He was known as 'uncle' and lived with his mother and Sally in a flat where she was a tenant. He's said to be mentally unstable and was taking medication.
Two weeks ago, Sally had moved out of the flat to stay with one of her friends, although it is not known why.
Wong Nyet Fah, the victim’s friend and eyewitness to the stabbing incident, said: "She left and did not want to return even when he begged her to. She said because he drove her away twice, she would not return anymore."

Man wanted by police to assist in murder investigations found at foot of block
A 60-year-old man, who was wanted for the murder of a woman dishwasher at Causeway Point last Sunday, jumped to his death after three days on the run.
He was found dead at the foot of Block 660, Jalan Tenaga, at about 9 pm last night.
Police was looking for the Chinese man in connection with the murder of 45-year-old Ms Khoo Quee Kee, who was said to be his former tenant.
The man had brutally attacked and stabbed her to death with a 15cm-long knife, while she was at work at the Causeway Point foodcourt on Sunday morning.
The man then left the scene and the knife was later found in a rubbish bin on the sixth floor of the Woodlands mall, a floor above the foodcourt. <!--938-NewsDetailPortlet.jsp1213184603303 END:Wed Jun 11 19:43:23 GMT+08:00 2008 taken 0.031--> <!-- horizontal spacer between div/column layouts - begins --> <!-- horizontal spacer between div/column layouts - ends -->
